ActiveImage Protector: Protect Your Data, Recover Your Business - with Comprehensive Disaster Recovery

Future-proof your business data with an image-based backup solution

With our growing dependency on digital information, we run the risk of suffering from serious data loss because of unprecedented events such as: hardware failure, natural disasters, ransomware attacks, and more. Therefore, it’s even more crucial for businesses like you to protect your data.

Founded in 1996, Actiphy has been steadfast in their vision of adapting and introducing data protection software to its customers. Realizing that image-based backups are more robust, reliable, and efficient than the conventional backup method is what led them to develop their flagship product: ActiveImage Protector™(AIP). AIP has different editions under its belt that guarantees the safety of your files during backup and recovery, and caters to your system’s requirements.

What are the Features of ActiveImage Protector™?

  • Full-State Recovery with Image-Based Backup

This feature ensures that your entire hard disk and operating system are backed up and can be safely, quickly, and successfully recovered through AIP.

  • BootCheck™

AIP guarantees that your backup images are bootable via a local or remote Hyper-V host through its BootCheck™ feature. It boots up a virtual machine directly from a backup image file to quickly check its bootability.

  • ActiveVisor™

AIP’s ActiveVisor™ provides a centralized management console for your AIP clients. It collects data from remote clients over the network, monitors their status, and deploys backup tasks.

  • Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI) Integration

Through this feature, AIP can target any local or remote iSCSI initiator for mounting backup images. It not only provides a method to recover files and folders from a backup, but it also delivers immediate booting of a backup image attached to a virtual machine on HyperVisor.

  • Inline Data Deduplication Compression (IDDC)

IDDC is a built-in feature of AIP that compresses data and eliminates duplicate files, allowing for a significant reduction in backup storage sizes. AIP also leverages SmartSector™ technology that only backs up the used sectors of a disk, enabling faster, smaller-sized files.

  • Flexible Scheduling

AIP lets you customize and create a schedule for full and incremental backups on specific days or weeks in a month. Additionally, with AIP’s stringent retention policy, you can set a pre-determined number of images you can keep in a period of time to reduce your storage footprint.

  • Windows PE and Linux-based Boot Environments

The Windows PE-based boot environment builder utilizes Microsoft ADK, AIK, and Linux CentOS. This allows for faster disaster recovery and cold back-ups.

  • HyperBoot™

This feature circumvents the lengthy physical to virtual conversion process and allows you to boot into AIP backup image files in only a few minutes in local and remote Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWare ESXi, VMWare Workstation Pro & Player, and Oracle VirtualBox.
